Week 2 Development Announcements


There is no tutorials this week, or even an explanation of how something was done, or why we did it that way. Although we do have some cool mechanics and a feature that we want to announce. Starting with the mechanics, more specifically combat!

Combat Features:

  • Holy bar (which is a mana bar), which will automatically regenerate a max of one pip if the player has none, with there being a max of five pips.
  • Implemented player shooting projectiles, although it uses a single pip.
  • implemented player activating a shield.
  • implemented shield knocking enemies backwards, and regenerates a single pip for each enemy blocked.

Planned Combat Features:

  • The players ability to deflect enemy projectiles with their shield.
  • An ultimate or supper ability that will chain a max of five enemies and instantly kill them.

Implemented enemies:

  • Physical trauma, which is an enemy that is a close ranged attacker.
  • Emotional trauma, which will attack at range.

Along with the combat mechanics, we have another cool feature that we added, which is controller support for all controllers. With the addition of controller support we also have another combat mechanic that we did not announce earlier in the post. The feature that we are referring to is  a  lock on system for when the player is using a controller, to make it easier to aim.
